This documentation concerns various resources and/or processes regarding IT within the companies reanto, RUBI Bahntechnik and RBDE. Most notably it concerns the currently used server infrastructure that hosts multiple web apps that are used by employees on a day-to-day basis and various topics regarding software engineering.

Apart from that, everybody that is granted write access to the corresponding git repository (currently hosted on GitHub, see link below) can contribute to this documentation, which is highly encouraged to complement as much information as possible.

Making Contributions ​

Making contributions to this documentation is very simple - if you have write access to the GitHub repository (see link below), you can make contributions by pushing your changes to the prod branch (or push to the dev branch and then open a pull request on GitHub). There is a Jenkins pipeline set up to automatically deploy the changes to production. Therefore it is encouraged to double check information before pushing it to the prod branch. Further information regarding the exact setup can be found on the next page.

Additional Resources ​

This documentation was created in an attempt to standardise and consolidate internal IT documentation, which means that most information that is currently valid has been integrated into the repository that feeds this documentation. If the reader is under the impression that certain pieces of information are still missing, legacy documentation can be found on the RBDE SharePoint (special permissions might be required to gain access).

For the remote server (Metanet) specifically, some documentation is still accessible via the respective GitHub repository. However, it should be noted that most of the information in either one of these locations is either deprecated or fragmentary (or both).
